From 1804 to about 1814 Virginia manufactured 3 different cav sabres , during the civil war they modified some of them. This sword has a 1st Model hilt with a nice condition 3rd Model blade. The blade still bears the 1st Virginia Regimental mark on the spine. The scabbard fits the sword perfectly and has a really good look. the grip has all the leather + wire, the blade is smooth with some staining, the flash makes it look browner than it actualy is
