These are neat old sabres, Virginia Manufactory Cav Sabre 3rd Model, with original scabbard.Made around 200 years ago, an American made Sabre from Old Virginia. This one has a 34" blade,the blade has some pitting would clean up a bit there are no markings visible on the spine of blade, 2 dashes or chisel cuts on right side riccasso. The dark wooden handle has some cracks, and is missing a small piece close to the pommel , no wire or leather left. The heavy dark patinated scabbard is solid , has a few dents, mostly about a foot up from bottom. This old war horse looks good as is, but would clean up + restore to a nice piece.
